Michael Connelly’s next book The Crossing became an instant hit six months before its release. The interest was so high that the novel already entered in Top 5 Amazon bestselling kindle list. Connelly is my favorite crime author so he is our guest in the next part of our 13 Facts rubric.

The Crossing is the 28th book by Michael Connelly.

The famous LAPD detective Harry Bosch will be featured for the 18th time in Connelly’s novels.

His half brother Mickey Haller, known as The Lincoln Lawyer, will team up with his half-brother. It will be the sixth time when the defense attorney will be part of the action in Michael Connelly’s books.

With a facebook post on January 5 2015 Connelly announced that his new book is being written and will be released. The cover was published on March 2015.

November 3 2015 is the release date of The Crossing. The novel is available for pre-order.

The name of one of The Crossing‘s characters was auctioned in Ebay by Michael Connelly. The money will be given to Trinity Cafe, a charitable restaurant for homeless in Tampa. There were 99 bids and the winner put $10 000. Nice idea!

The first ever Harry Bosch book came out in 1992.

There is a ready movie script for The Lincoln Lawyer sequel. Michael Connelly is hoping that once again Matthew Mcconaughey will play it.

Harry Bosch name came after Connelly study the famous painter Hieronymus Bosch in college. The future writer was impressed by his showing of “the world gone wrong in chaos”. When the author described a crime scene in his first book the same comparison came into his mind.

The favorite musicians of Michael Connelly are Frank Morgan and Art Pepper.

Michael Connelly became a full time writer before his forth novel about Harry Bosch The Last Coyote. Until then he worked a full time job.
