The latest adventure of Jack Reacher Make Me was published on September 8. Lee Child once again jumped directly at the top spot of bestselling ranks. After it’s-time-for-some-summer-pause 13 Facts rubric is returning with the master of the thriller.

Make Me is the 20th full novel and 30th story by Lee Child featuring Jack Reacher. The first one Killing Floor was published 28 years ago.

Killing Floor won most awards compared to other books by Lee Child. The novel received Anthony Award, Barry Award and Japan Adventure Fiction Association Prize.

The debuting book was written with a pencil and on two pads of papers. The pencil is still one of the most valuable items of Lee Child and he keeps it in his New York home.

The writing of every new book by Lee Child begins exactly on September 1. This is the date when the first book of Killing Floor was put on paper.

In the authors’ world Lee Child compares himself as Manchester United in the football universe. However the British author is fan of Aston Villa.

Jim Grant is the reality person behind the pseudonym Lee Child. The second part of the pen name was selected, because of a very smart marketing trick. The idea was that the books of the author will be placed in the bookshelves between the crime legends Raymond Chandler and Agatha Christie

Born in England, studied law, worked in television, and was almost bankrupt when decided to become a writer. His wife added some extra hours to work, while his daughter found a job as a waitress for the family financial survivor.

Ruth, the daughter of Lee Child, is the only person, who still is calling the famous author by his real name Jim, according to the writer himself.

Over 100 million copies of Jack Reacher’s stories were sold in 99 countries, and were translated on 42 languages.

The film Jack Reacher, adaptation of One Shot, premiered in 2012. The movie had great success generating almost $220 million box office compared to “just” $60 million budget.

The movie Jack Reacher 2 was set for release in October 2016. Once again Tom Cruise will be the main character. It will be based on Never Go Back.

Since 1998 Lee Child and his wife Jane are living in New York. In 2015 they are celebrating 40 years together as a married couple.

A real fan of coffee – Lee Child drinks up to 30 cups each day.
