GABRIEL BOUTROS: I WRITE TO GET AWAY FROM THE WORLD

Gabriel Boutros is a practicing criminal lawyer who started to write few years ago. Sounds familiar? Yeah, there are many attorneys turned to become very successful novelists.
Our next guest released his third book Face/Mask few days ago. We will learn exclusively from the author about the story in the following interview.

gabriel

– Gabriel, what is your fresh release Face/Mask about?
– While Face/Mask fits into the genre of dystopian fiction, it is not science fiction. It takes place only 25 years from now, so the world is still very recognizable. It’s the story of a man who lives, unhappily, in a world that is slowly decaying around him. There is constant war, the environment is toxic, and the government is corrupt and has no respect for civil rights. His search for a break from the monotony and meaninglessness of his life leads him into heavy gambling, cheating on his wife, and even informing on a relative to the military police, which puts his whole family onto a dangerous path.
The title refers to masks that people must wear to protect themselves from the poisonous air, as well as figurative masks they wear to hide their true natures.

T.K. CHAPIN: THE FIRST SENTENCE IS ALWAYS THE MOST DIFFICULT

T.K. Chapin’s first Book of The Chronicles of Kilix debuted two months ago. The third part Solex is scheduled for release on January 12. Our next guest is developing a special rating system for the book’s content, something like motion picture rating system that doesn’t allow kids to watch adult, abusive or ultra-violent movies. We’ve got a chance to hear more about such a great idea. Are you ready for our next interview?

tk

– What are your The Chronicle of Kilix series about?

HAZEL GAYNOR: HAVING A BEST SELLER DOES NOT MAKE IT ANY EASIER TO WRITE THE NEXT BOOK

I never liked titles of my articles or interviews with many words. An exception is a must for our next guest – New York Times bestselling author Hazel Gaynor. She wrote the amazing story of Maggie, one of Titanic survivors. The Girl Who Came Home became one of the best books for 2014. The novel was republished by HarperCollins in April and received great positive feedback (4.4 out of 5 stars from almost 1800 Amazon reviews).

One other thing that I rarely do in the introduction section is to comment something about the following interview. Hazel Gaynor earned my respect with the way she speaks about her books and the entire process of research. I recommend you to check her great blog Carry on Writing. Inside you may find a lot of shared personal experience.

To conclude we also have great news about lady Gaynor’s next novel A Memory of Violets. Are you curious to know more? Well, it’s time for our next interview, which became one of my favorite in the blog.

hazel

– Your second book A Memory of Violets is another history novel, which will be released on February 3 2015. What the readers may expect?
A MEMORY OF VIOLETS is set around the lives of flower sellers in London at the turn of the century. Although fiction, it is based on facts surrounding a man called John Groom and a charity he established to help the flower sellers who lived and worked on the streets around his home. The novel tells the story of Tilly Harper, a young woman who finds the diary of an orphaned flower seller who was separated from her sister in Victorian England, and her journey to learn the fate of the long lost sisters. I hope that readers will be immersed in the evocative streets of Victorian London, and that they will also enjoy getting to know my cast of characters as Tilly unravels the mystery of the diary and the lost sister. While the novel is an emotional read, it is ultimately full of hope and redemption.

ALAN RUSSELL: PICKING OUT A FAVORITE BOOK IS LIKE PICKING OUT A FAVORITE CHILD

Alan Russel’s next book Guardians of The Night will be officially released on January 1 2015. The novel is available for download as e-book. The story headed Amazon bestselling list few days ago and still is staying as #1. We’ve got a great chance to speak about the book with the author himself. Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time for our next guest – Mr. Alan Russell.

alan_russell

– Alan, your next book Guardians of The Night will be officially released in January, but the novel is already #1 ин Amazon’s bestselling books. Did you expected such result?
– I’ve never written a book with the idea of, “I’m writing a bestseller.” Every book I write I want to be compelling. I also never want to write the same book twice. Some authors only have one book in them, and they keep rewriting that same book over and over. If I make a reader think, and I make a reader feel for my protagonist, then I think I have succeeded in writing the book.

MIKE BOVE: I NEVER USE FRIENDS’ SUGGESTIONS IN MY BOOKS

Mike Bove released in April his last book Stinger Maguire. The Crime novel received very good response from the readers with currently averaging 4.3 stars from 9 Amazon reviews. Our next featured author wrote a total of two books, all of them with the same main character Bruce DelReno. The third part is on process of production.

mike300x300

– What is your book Stinger Maguire about?
– Taryn Maguire is a golf pro who is murdered when he returns to his hometown in Arizona. He is called “Stinger” because he is proficient at a low, line drive golf shot called a stinger. Bruce DelReno, a retired postman and golf enthusiast, discovers the body. Bruce develops a unique relationship with the police since, it seems, people connected with the investigation and Maguire would rather speak with him. Secrets uncovered about Maguire’s past in the small town and his life on the PGA tour lead the police, and Bruce and his cohorts, in many directions. In the end, it is Stinger Maguire’s own secret that answers all of the questions. Bruce’s best friend Ben, an Apache Indian, provides some humor and wisdom, as does Genny, his wife.

ANDY WEIR: RESIST THE URGE TO TELL FRIENDS AND FAMILY YOUR STORY

Andy Weir is a role model for every self-publishing author on the planet. His novel The Martian was published on paper by Crown in February 2014. The book have already been a huge hit.
Few days ago Andy received another acknowledgement by the readers. He won Goodreads Choice Awards in sci-fi genre for 2014. Our next guest is a very kind and modest person and you will be convinced by yourself with the following interview.

andi_weir
– Andy, your debut novel The Martian became a huge hit. You described the book with the following sentence:” It’s the story of an astronaut trying to survive after being accidentally left behind on Mars.” But what is the difference between The Martian and all other space or astronaut novels?
– I tried to be scientifically accurate in The Martian. All the technology you see in the book actually exists, and the conditions of Mars are accurately represented. There are a few errors and deliberate concessions to drama, but the majority of the book is real science.

ROBERT DUGONI: I HAD NO IDEA MY SISTER’S GRAVE WOULD HIT #1

Robert Dugoni’s next release My Sister’s Grave is staying as Amazon bestselling book #1 for the last few weeks. The official premier of the novel will be on November 1. One of the most popular author on the planet will be our guest for today’s interview. He found time from his busy schedule around the release for a very special Q&A for our blog.

robert

My Sister’s Grave will be released on November 1. What is so special about your next novel that the readers love it so much and you reach #1 in Amazon (av. 4.5 stars from almost 700 reviews!)?
– They seem to have fallen for my protagonist Tracy Crosswhite and her relationship with her younger sister, Sarah. What I wanted when I wrote the novel was for the reader to feel the haunting sense of loss when a loved one is taken too early in life. In order to do that, I had to establish Tracy and Sarah’s relationship as young sisters and as young women so they could experience the pain Tracy feels when Sarah disappears and understand why Tracy is so determined to find out what actually happened to Sarah.

MONTGOMERY MAHAFFEY: I TURN A FABLE INTO A NOVEL

Montgomery Mahaffey is one of those rare classical storytellers. Few months ago she published her book Ella Bandita and the Wanderer. The author polished herself in the cold Alaska. It’s time for another Q&A with the next interesting writer.

BrucePhoto1_1_

– What is your book Ella Bandita and the Wanderer about?
– I once heard an editor say: “Don’t tell me your story is about love and redemption because all stories are about love and redemption.” She was right and mine is no different. But isn’t it marvelous how many different stories can come from one theme? My particular take on this theme involves a predatory seductress who is mad, bad, and dangerous to know – and the people who helped shape her, and an adventurer frozen in grief who won’t go away because he can’t bring himself to go home.
