HELEN ALEXANDER: REMEMBERING TO SLEEP AND TO EAT WAS MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE
Our next guest Helen Alexander made my day with her answers. She was pleasant enough to dig deeply on them and to present not only her books, but to draw a personal portrait with words. Speaking of drawing, she is working as 3D computer games designer, who already published few books. Helen is coming from Russia and still keeps great respect from the authors of her native land. Last year she published her last novel Lovers In The Woods so we will put some more attention on the sci-fi adventure.
– Helen, What is your last book Lovers In The Woods about?
– Lovers in the Woods takes place in a future city called Metro and is about an ordinary guy named Leon. Leon leads a quiet, uneventful life working as a programmer for a company called Nokida, but then he starts having strange dreams of a young girl named Nina. She always appears to him trapped in some terrible place, a dirty old hospital or an asylum, and keeps asking him to save her from things she calls the Shadows. After a while, Leon thinks he’s losing it, but he doesn’t give up and eventually gathers enough clues to lead him to Nina. It gets him into a lot of trouble – he’s fired from his job, the police get on his tail, and then two thugs, Mike and EZ, start chasing him down as bounty because of his hacking skills. The title of the book comes from an old cartoon, a humorous, erotic take on the Hansel and Gretel fairytale – Leon and Nina being the Hansel and Gretel, lost in the virtual woods.

M.H. SARGENT: A CONTAINABLE INCIDENT IS DEDICATED TO MY LATE FATHER
The seventh chapter of MP-5 CIA Series – A Containable Incident was released year ago. M.H. Sargent produced another nice book with his personal thriller signature. The best prove is the positive feedback by the readers.
In the times of remembering Iraqi war our guest gave very interesting angle in his most popular book Seven Days From Sunday. Let’ hear from M.H. more in the following interview.
. What is the seventh book of MP-5 CIA Series – A Containable Incident about?
– Is is about Iranian hackers getting into various American banks and draining accounts.
– How did you decide to write the story?
– My brother and I were out to dinner with a group of people and someone asked my brother his opinion about the U.S. debt and deficit problems (he is a securities broker), and he said, “We’ll be fine until we wake up one morning and find out that China has drained all our bank accounts.” Everyone at the table laughed and the conversation went to different things, but I just kept thinking about his comment. So we talked the next day and he said electronic sabotage is the one thing that keeps securities people awake at night — it’s like a freight train that we don’t see it coming and it wipes us out. He suggested I find some experts in bank fraud and I did, truthfully a guy that could hack into a bank and get away with it. Luckily, he’s a good guy, working in the Silicon Valley in California.

SCOTT MCEWEN: I CONVINCED CHRIS KYLE TO DO AMERICAN SNIPER
The biggest hit in the book stores and in the cinemas American Sniper could never been born if one part of the team behind the memoir, Scott McEwen, had not been on board. The well known author of The SEAL team books is ready to release another heroic story. The Sniper and the Wolf is set for premiere in May.
The interview with Scott McEwen was done during the days when the movie is hunting down $200 mil. box office and the book is on the first place on Amazon bestseller list. Check out my article about adaptation. During our chat the writer unveiled how the book was planed and how he felt when learn the news about Chris Kyle’s death.
– Mr. McEwen, your next release The Sniper and the Wolf is coming up in May. Would you share what to expect from the next chapter of A Sniper Elite Novel?
– The next book teams Gil Shannon up with some international operators in Europe to battle some very bad terrorist elements there. The first engagement with the bad guys takes place in Paris-figure that!
– What was the biggest challenge during the write up process?
– The biggest challenge is to remain true to the characters and the tactics they use. The SEAL Teams live by a code and it is important to remain within that code at all times.

TRISTA BORGWARDT: WE HAVE BEARDED DRAGONS IN OUR HOUSE

– Trista, would you introduce your book Rabbit’s feet?
– It is the first book in my supernatural/horror series. It is about a normal high school girl who is living the dream in Hawaii. Her life takes a devastating turn for the worst when her mother is killed. She begins to feel paranoid and flees to South Dakota in hopes that the unseen evil that is stalking her does not follow. Once there, she finds herself on a roller coaster of emotions. She develops an infatuation with a handsome man, feels the guilt of that infatuation as she yearns for her long-time boyfriend. She develops new friendships and experiences the sting of betrayal. Her biggest challenge is when she is finally confronted by the evil monster stalking her. Her whole world is twisted upside down as she discovers that supernatural beings do exist.

– Ian, what is your book Five College Dialogues about?
– Five College Dialogues is a comedic philosophical commentary on college life told through Socratic Dialogue. Each dialogue features George Tecce (known throughout the Dialogues as The Chief), a graduate student working as a teaching assistant, as he talks with students and professors about the trials and tribulations that many students face.

L.A. WILD: CHANCE THE DARKNESS CAME TO ME WHILE DRIVING HOME
L.A. Wild published her debut novel Chance the Darkness in November. The English author is a specialist at urban fantasy genre. She loves to travel, to drink wine with friends and to write. The second part of her The Dark Series will be published in the next months. Let’s welcome our next guest.
– Lee-Anne, what is debut book Chance the Darkness about?
– My favourite subject! I can drone on for hours about the Dark Series. I love it. I love profiling all the characters; Summer, Black, Dillon, Marinus and many more. I love learning about them, their quirks and behaviours. Even the bad guys are awesome.
The book is urban fantasy with romantic elements. It’s not a standalone book but there are raunchy scenes in places so it’s definitely for the adults.
So, quick summary which in reality I’ve pinched from the synopsis and tweaked, Summer’s twin dies, and her whole life begins to unravel in ways she never could have imagined. A crazy lady ranting in her head, blood-drinking ghouls, a psychotic cult demanding she channels some powerful objects.
Then she meets Black. Tall, handsome, godlike. He harbors sinister secrets and lives by his own set of rules—rules no one can begin to comprehend.
While searching for her sister’s killer in a seedy part of Glasgow, she discovers nothing about her life is what it seems. Family secrets, betrayal. Her emotions run hot, she makes some seriously bad choices. But with the heart of Scotland becoming a paranormal battlefield, Summer has to fight just to stay alive.

BOOK TO MOVIE ADAPTATION: AMERICAN SNIPER
The name of Chris Kyle is one of the most popular in the USA. Two years ago the legendary sniper was killed in very strange circumstances by his fellow army veteran Eddie Ray Routh.
The Texas solder was known as The Devil of Ramadi. He participated in Iraqi War and according to the official stats his rifle killed 255 victims.
In 2012, three years after his honorary dismissal from the army, Chris Kyle published an autobiography American Sniper. Scott McEwen and Jim DeFelice were the shadow writers of the memoir, which became huge hit.

EVERETT ROBERT: BEING AN ACTOR HELPS MY COMMAND OF DIALOG
Everett Robert is an award winning author, playwright, actor, and director with over 20 years of experience. His last book Based on The… was published in February 2014. Our next guest is using his theatre education in his writings. Let’s hear from Mr. Robert more about his works.
– What is your book Based on the… about?
– BASED ON THE… is a collection of four (4) short dramatic retellings of famous stories either based on previously published material now available in the public domain. The first play in the collection is called THE REUNION and is based on Thomas Hardy’s classic poem “A Ruined Maid” and tells the story of two old friends running into each other on the street of a major city and they catch up. I put a modern twist on my adaptation, set it in modern times and made it about a Christian woman and her best friend from high school, who came out as a lesbian. Hardy’s poem is about how others view you isn’t always the way you view yourself and that was one of the ideas I was playing with. The second play, THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF LOT 249 is based on one of the first “mummy” horror stories in literature, “Lot No. 249” by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is about a police detective interrogating his primary suspect in a recent string of murders. The play BLINK is based on the true story and many of the newspaper accounts of the infamous Newsboys Strike of 1899 in which a group of New York city newsboys, the “extra, extra read all about it” hawkers, went on strike against the two major newspaper publishers at that time and won. Those kids, there were boys and girls, were organized by a young man somewhere around the age of 13-15 nicknamed Kid Blink (because he had one eye). BLINK is a short monodrama style play that tells Blink’s story of leading the strike. The final play, MIRIAM AND ISA, is based on the famous Nativity story from the Bible but looking at it from a more historical context.

JOHN PRIEST: CHILDREN’S BOOKS NEED A GREAT DEAL OF THOUGHT
John Priest released his last book The Curse of Sea Shell Cave last March. It’s a story about Junior Private Investigators, who had a new mission.
Our next feature guest started with writing in 1985. Some of his works were published in national magazines. John Priest is a specialist in kids’ novels. We had a chance to meet him for a nice chat.
– John, what is your last book The Curse of Sea Shell Cave about?
– The Curse of Sea Shell Cave is the second in my detective series starring the Junior Private Investigators or JPIs. They are on holiday at the seaside when strange and mysterious things start occurring. The four detectives need to solve this mystery urgently because lives are in imminent danger.

ANGELO MARCOS: MY NEXT NOVEL WILL BE FINISHED AROUND MID-2015

– Angelo, what is your book The Artist about?
– It’s a crime thriller set in London, and is about a serial killer who preys on young actresses – filming the last minutes of their lives and then sending the recordings to the media. It’s a perversion of Andy Warhol’s quote about how in the future everybody will be famous for 15 minutes. The killer gives the actresses this fame, but the trade-off is that it’ll be the last 15 minutes of their lives.
At the same time, we meet a young girl named Kaylin who lives in London with her mum, an out of work actress. Her mum’s relentless pursuit of fame has cost her pretty much everything including her marriage, and it is deeply affecting Kaylin, who just wants to be a normal fourteen year old.
Kaylin then finds out that a murderer is killing actresses in London, and the rest of the story is about the consequences this all has for all of the main characters. With a few twists and turns on the way, of course…!
