So both the hero and the heroine have to make a choice. Do they wallow in the turmoil of that loss for the rest of their lives and let that turmoil destroy their new found love and their future, or do they find a way to move forward together.

– Grant, what is your next book Speak The Dead about?
– Speak The Dead is first and foremost the type of edge-of-your-seat thriller that my readers have come to expect from me, but with a slight supernatural twist. The story begins in the past when Sally Blue is only six years old. Startled awake by the sound of a gunshot, Sally runs to her parents’ bedroom for comfort. Instead, she finds her father mysteriously missing and her mother slumped against the headboard, her nightgown shredded by a shotgun blast. Climbing on the bed, Sally cradles her mother’s head, mindless of the blood and stench of death. Yet from somewhere deep within the lifeless body, Sally hears the voice of her mother warning her: “Run, Sally! Run!” Twenty-five years later, Sally has finally stopped running. She has found a modicum of peace as a mortician’s beautician; able to take solace from the voices of the dead that trailed her for years wherever she went. Yet a grisly murder reawakens her ‘gift’, forcing Sally to turn to Jersey Castle, homicide detective by day, punk rock drummer by night, and the last person Sally might expect to help her. But what Sally doesn’t know is that someone has been hunting for her all this time. They voices of the dead are all around her, and if she is unable to silence them the next voice to join the cacophony of death will be Sally’s own.

HEATHER WARDELL: KEEPING TRACK OF PEOPLE IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN SERIES
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Heather Wardell is the author behind the Toronto Collection series. She worked as software developer and computer teacher before turning to a successful writer. Her next book Fifteen Minutes of Summer was published on June 4. We’ve got a chance to speak with our next guest for her latest novels.
– Heather, Fifty Million Reasons and Plan Overboard are your last two parts of Toronto Collection. Did you imagine at the beginning that the series will continue with success for so long?
– I definitely did not, although I’m delighted! I released the first book in the series, “Life, Love, and a Polar Bear Tattoo”, as a free download back in 2008 (it’s still free and can be picked up on my website or at any retailer) and with each new book I’ve reached more readers. “Fifty Million Reasons” is the 13th book in the series and it recently reached #22 at Amazon and #5 and Barnes and Noble, my best results yet!

With 13 titles behind her our next guest is well established name in the thriller genre. We are honored to have her in the following Land of Books interview.
– What is your book Crazy Love You about?
– I do a notoriously bad job telling people what my book is about. The publisher on the other hand does a pretty good one:
Darkness has a way of creeping up when Ian is with Priss. Even when they were kids, playing in the woods of their small Upstate New York town, he could feel it. Still, Priss was his best friend, his salvation from the bullies who called him “loser” and “fatboy”… and from his family’s deadly secrets.
Now that they’ve both escaped to New York City, Ian no longer inhabits the tortured shell of his childhood. He is a talented and successful graphic novelist, and Priss… Priss is still trouble. The booze, the drugs, the sex—Ian is growing tired of late nights together trying to keep the past at bay. Especially now that he’s met sweet, beautiful Megan, whose love makes him want to change for the better. But Priss doesn’t like change. Change makes her angry. And when Priss is angry, terrible things begin to happen…
