DREAMAH LOCKWOOD: WRITING IS A CONTINUAL LEARNING PROCESS
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Dreamah Lockwood is pseudonym of two authors, who work together. They are sisters Sunny L. and Pat Ross. It’s a strange combination, which produced great results according to their book ratings in Amazon. Here is the amazing story of Dreamah Lockwood’s novels.

(a red rose is used by the authors as a profile picture in honor of their dead sister)
– What is your last book The Stone Killer about?
– Justice. All our novels deal with justice for the victims of a crime. It is our platform to even out the score between a victim and the injustice of our judicial system. Our killers let the punishment fit the crime.
– How did you decide to write the story?
– I saw a news story about the stoning death of a married woman in a middle eastern country for having an affair. Nothing happened to the man and it pissed me off. There is justice in the end of our novels for victims.

NEIL GRIMMETT: DON’T BE PUT OFF BY REJECTION
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Neil Grimmett is an award winning author. He is master of short stories with two self-published books in 2014 – The Hoard and The Threshing Circle. Our next guest knows how tough is to deal with publishers and literary agents. Neil was very kind to share his impressions in the next Q&A for the blog.
– Neil, what is your last book The Hoard about?
– An explosion kills 6 men in 1951. Thirty years later the son of one of the victims infiltrates the top secret location to discover the truth and fight evil.
– How did you decide to write the story?
– I had written 6 short stories set in the location and published them worldwide. The novel grew from them.
MICHELE FAISON: A BAR OF DARK CHOCOLATE KEEPS ME MOTIVATED
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Michele Faison’s first novel Ethereal was published two weeks ago. We’ve got a very special chance to speak with her about the book and many more interesting things. It’s time for our next cool Q&A with a fellow author.
– What is your last book Ethereal about?
– Ethereal is close to my heart, a salute to our military and their sacrifices. I grew tired of watching the way service members were depicted in the media or forgotten by nations. However, it wouldn’t be my kind of story unless love were involved and thus the connection between Chase and Trinity. Ethereal is the story of love overcoming adversity in the face of danger and uncertain times and above all, choices.
P.S. WINN: MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE WAS TRYING TO CHANGE ALL THE REAL NAMES
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
It’s always tough when you are writing a non-fiction, because you must use facts. Sometimes you need to make additional changes from the original events in order to do not hurt the main character. Well, our next author P.S. Winn needed to overcome such a challenge. Let’s hear from her what exactly happened!
– What is one of your most popular books Suppression about?
– Suppression is a true story. An inventor, his name is changed, invented what is possibly the most important invention of our time. It is a pollution abatement device. In simple turns you could burn garbage with no pollution and make energy to power a city in the process. The government, backed by big oil companies wasn’t going to let this happen. The invention is patented but the inventor is afraid to take it any further.

BERNADETTE BOAS: STAY TRUE TO YOU AND YOUR STORY
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Bernadette Boas is the author of Shedding the Corporate Bitch: Shifting Your Bitches to Riches in Life and Business. The book received huge positive feedback in amazon (av. 4.5 stars from 29 reviews). The description starts with: “For twenty-five years she was a corporate bitch, and now has shifted from bitch to rich”. Sounds interesting, this is why I decided to go one to one with Bernadette, who hides a lot more interesting things around her.

– What is your book Shedding the Corporate Bitch: Shifting Your Bitches to Riches in Life and Business about?
– The book is my true story of how despite being a sassy and precocious young girl, from a tight family unit of fourteen, my desire and greed for position, power and prosperity transformed me into a corporate tyrant. It wasn’t until I was handed a pink slip and heard the words ‘you’re fired’ from my mentor of 12 years, did I confront my inner demons and decided to shift from bitch to rich. The book gives a glimpse of the motives and agenda of the many corporate bullies out there… and helps others, especially victims of such tyrants, an understanding of their behavior.

– What is your last book The Thursday Appointments of Bill Sloan about?
– It’s about redemption of character/characters. It’s extremely dark in its humor but if you are interested in the brief rundown, it’s the story of an unethical psychologist and all the quirky people he treats. It’s funny, serious and tragic.
AXEL HOWERTON: I’M JUST A GUY WHO LIKES TO TELL STORIES
Posted by Ognian Georgiev
Hot Sinatra by Axel Howerton was finalist for the 2014 Arthur Ellis Award for Best First Novel. The author is former journalist and master of short stories. He was also a former amateur boxer and semi-pro kickboxer way back in time. It’s a great chance that Axel will be our next guest in our Q&A section. I’ve made many interviews in my professional life. Some of them are good, some of them are boring and some of them are really interesting and may be rated with Five Stars. The one with Axel, despite the fact that was made just by asking questions via e-mail, is probably the coolest one in the blog!

– What is your book Hot Sinatra about?
– Hot Sinatra is a throwback to the pulp detective stories of the 1930’s and 40’s, to my favorite authors – Hammett, Chandler and the like. It follows a middle-aged, recovering alcoholic, danger-prone ex-cop who has taken over his grandfather’s private investigation business. The grandfather was a prototypical Bogart-style detective, who was well-known and revered in Los Angeles, and our hero has a hard time living up to that legacy. The hero, Mossimo Cole, gets mixed up with a crazy old record producer who has lost a very rare Frank Sinatra record, which he believes was stolen. Soon Mossimo is caught between the Las Vegas mafia, the Yakuza, Mexican drug lords, and a 60 year-old mystery surrounding the record producer’s wife and child. He is helped (and hindered) along the way by his best friend, a foul-mouthed Irish rock star, two hired thugs, the record producer’s beautiful daughter, and a collection of strange characters from the streets of L.A. It has been very well received by critics and readers, as well as being a finalist for the 2013 Crime Writers of Canada award for Best First Novel.
